CARS Program: Report All Clunkers Twice
for nmvtis, Salvage, Salvage/Junk Yards, Shredders, Wreckers and Wreckers on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 by Sarah Kathryn McRaeCARS program administrators have indicated that each Cash for Clunkers vehicle should be reported twice , once as SCRAP and once as CRUSH, even if the vehicle was crushed the day it was received.
If a vehicle was reported only once with a disposition of CRUSH, a SCRAP report should be made retroactively. ADD has added a function to the Record Manifest that will sort previously reported Cash for Clunkers vehicles and list VINs that have not yet been reported with a disposition of either SCRAP or CRUSH.
The Show Only Un-Crushed filter will display records that have been reported as CRUSH but do not have a corresponding SCRAP report.
The Show Only Un-Scrapped filter will display records that have been reported as SCRAP or UNKNOWN but do not have a corresponding CRUSH report.
ADD has also added a Batch Export tool that will allow users to create a batch upload file from the record manifest for the second report, rather than re- reporting each vehicle individually.
