In September, the Florida DHSMV Data Center is scheduled to be transferred as part of the state’s Data Center Consolidation Plan. This move is complex and will require a complete shut‐down of all DHSMV systems. There are two scheduled outages in September that ADDTag users should be aware of.

As of July 1, 2012, all California dealers who sell used cars are required to obtain a NMVTIS vehicle history report for every used car on their lot, and post a red warning label on the vehicle if a title brand or salvage history is found. While the new California law is aimed at protecting consumers from purchasing less than desirable vehicles without full disclosure, pulling a vehicle history from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) is a smart thing to do for all dealers – not just those in California.
