This is especially true for customers who buy and sell salvage vehicles that are affected by the federal salvage reporting requirements. In addition to its easy-to-use salvage reporting tools, ADD offers additional services to help users prove compliance, keep reporting on track and verify a vehicle’s theft status. With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, please be sure to have plenty of temp tag stock on hand. UPS will not be picking up or delivering tags on Thursday, November 24th or Friday, November 25th. If you need temp tags for Thanksgiving weekend, they must be ordered by Tuesday, November 22nd before 3:00pm.

Florida dealers who have been issuing temporary tags through the ADDTag system now have the option to issue metal plates and perform permanent plate transfers! Through the Electronic Filing System, you have the ability to file all of your paperwork with the tax collector digitally, allowing your customer to leave with their registration and a permanent metal plate. You even print the registration sticker right in your office! Title and registration fees are transferred directly from your specified bank account to your tax collector or tag agency and we provide you with an itemized list of fees that you can give to your customer.

As a result of the recent flooding in Louisiana, the timely reporting of flood-damaged vehicles to NMVTIS will be very important for the businesses that handle the influx of water logged cars. While there is not yet a count of cars destroyed or damaged, estimates put the numbers at least in the five-figure range. One of the primary roles of NMVTIS is to make sure that salvage events in a vehicle’s history are available to a potential buyer. In cases such as the recent flooding and in light of the anticipated high volume of non-repairable flood-damaged automobiles, it is crucial that the vehicles are reported to NMVTIS in a timely manner. DOJ encourages NMVTIS Reporting Entities to submit NMVTIS reports on a daily basis (or as soon as possible, even before the deadline for reporting).

As 2016 comes to a close, ADD would like to keep its customers up to date on the remaining tradeshows and conventions scheduled for this year. As of September 1st, our ADDTag customers have a new, modern look for issuing temporary tags, transferring temporary tags, and managing temporary tag stock. The new ADDTag also gives dealers access to the Electronic Filing System, a convenient way to save dealers time by allowing them to skip a trip down to the DMV to issue permanent metal plates and transfer permanent metal plates.

On October 1, 2016 participation in the new Nevada Electronic Lien and Title service will become mandatory for Nevada businesses recording 27 or more liens per year. Mandatory compliance for all lienholders will be in effect by fall of 2017. Auto Data Direct is ready to provide you with a modern, easy-to-use system to manage your Electronic Lien and Title records. ADD’s ELT system allows you to easily satisfy liens, convert them to a paper title, and have the paper title mailed directly to you with the click of a button. Included is a powerful security feature, LienLock, which notifies the lienholder if a lien asset is reported stolen, offered for sale on eBay, intended for export, and more!

The deadline for mandatory Electronic Lien & Title (ELT) in North Carolina was July 1, 2016 and Auto Data Direct has you covered with all ELT needs and requirements! Any business that finances vehicles, vessels or mobile homes in the state of North Carolina will be required to obtain an ELT number to process titles.

Auto Data Direct, Inc. (ADD) is the authorized agent for scrap metal processors, secondary metal recyclers, auto recyclers, dismantlers, and used motor vehicle parts dealers in Tennessee to fulfill their state regulations under T.C.A. 55-3-202 (Public Chapter 466) which went into effect July 1, 2016. Based on this new statute, the affected businesses will need to report their purchases of salvage vehicles, within 24 hours of purchase, electronically through ADD. Once reporting to ADD has occurred, it will report to the state of Tennessee as required and will transmit the appropriate records to NMVTIS on behalf of the reporting business, completing the federal reporting requirement. All records reported will be checked for any “active” stolen VINs and reporting businesses will be notified if a reported VIN is found to be stolen.
