It’s tax time, dealers! When your sales pick up, don’t forget to stock up on temporary Print-On-Demand tag stock. In order to stay ahead of the curve, you can conveniently check how much tag stock you have left, right in your ADD account. To do this, click on your ADDTag tab, then go to your Order Tags sub- tab. There, you can filter by date and view your tag order history. Also here you will then be able to see how many pieces of stock are still available for use in each batch you have ordered. This is the best way to monitor and stay on top of your stock number, and know when to order new stock and stay prepared! ADD temporary tag stock packages ordered Monday through Thursday before 3 PM EST are delivered next-day delivery. Orders made on Fridays will be delivered by the following Monday, while orders placed over the weekend are delivered by the following Tuesday.

Recently the Department of Justice issued a memo stressing the importance of affected businesses reporting salvage vehicles to NMVTIS with emphasis on the fact that many new flood-damaged vehicles have been generated because of the recent events across the country. Auctions have been overrun with flood vehicles, due to the large volume of vehicles affected, and these vehicles are often sent to locations that can handle the overflow of vehicles. In many instances this will be in states other than the state where the flood occurred. This is a prime example of why NMVTIS is so important to both salvage buyers and consumers. Because of the differences in reporting requirements and title brands by state, these flooded vehicles may be sold or titled without any notice of the flood events.

Attention Florida lienholders and dealers, did you know that ADD has some useful forms available through the forms completion tool found in your ELT manifest? All forms completed using this tool (except for the Notice to Surrender which can be mailed through the DirectPost-Office) should be printed out, checked for accuracy, and any needed signatures. Then you can mail or take it to the appropriate office of the DMV.

In December, ADD announced that since becoming the first authorized provider of National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) vehicle reports in 2009, it has sold more than 2 million records to business customers and consumers. “The significance of the number of records sold relates directly to the importance of the NMVTIS database in preventing automobile fraud and protecting consumers,” said Jim Taylor, ADD President. “With the database now containing nearly 96% of all titled vehicles in the nation, it is a simple, affordable way to help ensure that a vehicle purchase is a smart decision. Consumers and businesses are seeing the value of this national resource.”
