for Auto Dealers on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 by Auto Data DirectFlorida dealers may have received an advisory from the DHSMV regarding a $0.50 inquiry fee for EFS and ETR system users (Florida’s Electronic Temporary Registration and Electronic Filing Systems). The fee is charged on inquiries that do not result in the issuance of a title or registration (including temporary tags and transfers). Though the notice was issued in October, the DHSMV applied the $0.50 fee retroactively, back to the first of the year. Read the DHSMV Advisory.
Because the Department did not apply the fee at the time the inquiries were made, ADD will not charge its users the thousands of dollars in fees assessed for the inquiries, and has paid the fees due to the Department for its user inquiries.
